El Paso, Texas, has the largest demand for physicians of all U.S. cities, according to a new report.
For the report, researchers analyzed data on 27,000 physician job listings posted in 2018-19 for the top 50 metropolitan areas in the U.S.
In 2019, demand increased 5 percent among the top 10 metro areas for physician employment. This figure marks a slight decline from the 7 percent increase seen in 2018. However, the current figure still falls in line with historical growth rates for the job market, the report noted.
The 10 metro areas with the highest demand for physicians:
1. El Paso
2. Miami
3. Cleveland
4. Phoenix
5. Denver
6. Portland, Maine
7. Seattle
8. Honolulu
9. Minneapolis
10. Los Angeles
